Sustainability
ACT FOR TOMORROW
Sustainable growth goes hand in hand with the value we create for people and our planet. Building on our track record of success, we set ourselves increasingly ambitious goals every day. We continue our lives with the awareness of our responsibility to improve the world.
Our approach, which we have adopted in line with the principles of our Zeynar Sustainability Strategy “ACT FOR TOMORROW” and the UN Sustainability Development Goals, aims to increase the participation of our stakeholders in the process, minimize differences, to ensure active participation in sustainable social, economic and environmental solutions, and to protect our natural resources and cultural heritage.
Water Management
For the sustainability of water, one of our planet’s most critical and limited assets, we primarily ensure the effective and holistic management of water resources.
- By measuring how much water is consumed from the sources we use, we constantly review our processes so that it is depleted less.
- We prefer those that consume less water in new machinery investments.
- Where possible, we ensure that the effluent water is returned to the facility and used.
Waste Reduction and Management
To correctly manage our resources, environmental health, and welfare, our wastes are separated as hazardous and non-hazardous and sent to recycling facilities and/or licensed waste disposal companies. In this way, the reuse and safe management of wastes are ensured.
- We provide awareness training to our employees in specific periods to reduce waste.
- We ensure that our wastes are measured periodically following local and European Union standards and necessary corrective/preventive actions.
- We dispose of our waste environmentally friendly manner within the framework of local and European Union standards.
Chemical Management
As part of our Environmental Sustainability Program, we implement proactive chemical management to reduce hazard levels with chemical risk controls and complete elimination and/or substitution management of hazardous chemicals in our production.
- For Zeynar, the selection of materials that are compatible with the environment and human health is more important than the cost factor in the use of raw materials.
- We ensure that the chemicals we use in our production processes comply with sustainability criteria by cooperating closely with our suppliers.
- We minimize health and safety risks that may arise in using, transporting, and storing chemicals.
Energy and Carbon Management
As Zeynar, we are aware of the challenge posed by climate change, the need to transition to a low-carbon environment while meeting increasing global demands, and the use of safe and affordable energy.
- We monitor and report our energy consumption daily and take continuous steps towards improvement.
- We use the most modern and technological equipment to reduce our carbon emissions and ensure the energy efficiency of our operations.
- We have ISO 50001 Energy Management System certification, which helps organizations better manage their energy use. With this document, we are constantly working to develop and implement energy policy, set targets for energy use, and create action plans to achieve them.
Material Management
We are cautious in selecting fabric, yarn, dye, and chemicals, which are the primary inputs of our production process. We design our processes and products in a way that makes the highest contribution to sustainability.
- Our goals in production are to use raw materials and other materials efficiently, to produce the same quality product with less input and waste, to reuse materials according to their place, and to use them to minimize their environmental impacts.
- Our aim in the procurement process is to provide the best conditions for the requested materials in terms of desired quality, time, quantity, and price. These studies directly affect the operating efficiency and the quality of the fabric we use.
Supplier Management
For us, acting sustainably means ensuring that our facility and suppliers comply with our standards. We aim to ensure that all our strategic suppliers can be verifiable and meet our sustainability requirements. Ultimately, we can create truly sustainable materials, products, and solutions only if we can root the entire value chain on the same foundations.
- We select and evaluate our suppliers to produce in line with local and European standards.
- We share our sustainability efforts with our suppliers and increase their awareness.
Employee Rights
As Zeynar, we implement a human resources policy that aims at global sustainable success, disseminates the innovative and learning together corporate culture, implements the best human resources practices in the business areas in which it operates, and adds value to all its stakeholders.
Occupational Health and Safety
At all stages of our production activities, we aim to carry out all our activities aimed at protecting public health and the environment in a healthy and safe working environment.
- We have the necessary personal protective equipment to protect the health of our employees and ensure that they are used when necessary.
- We take the necessary precautions by having the periodic controls of the work equipment carried out regularly.
- We ensure the effective participation of all employees by making occupational health and safety a corporate culture.
- We carry out continuous improvement studies by adapting to technological developments in occupational health and safety.
R&D and Innovation
Our innovation strategy is to further our commitment to cleaner, lower-carbon technology and solutions.
- We interpret all our production processes with the most advanced technology following the requirements of our age and improve them with a focus on continuous development. We follow our products and always try to find new and innovative solutions by interpreting them in new ways.
- We can offer different solutions for sustainable yarns in line with the demands of our customers.
- In this direction, we are open to developing joint projects with our customers and stakeholders.
